Blogging for 3/25

Greetings all,
Hopefully you've been getting comfortable with your blogs and putting your ideas out there for the world to see. Today (3/25) you have a few tasks:
  1. Go here and check out the slide show
  2. Take 15 minutes and blog your response to the following question "What was the lasting legacy of the New Deal?" Be sure to include information from your notes (textbook/film), the question #5 readings from the webquest, and the slide show above.
  3. When finished, go to the student's blog who is directly below yours on the list and comment on one of their posts. Continue to comment on at least three other student's posts (after you comment on one, go to the next person on the list). You may comment on ANY of their posts.

Invisible Children Update

If you're interested in learning more, go here. Feel free to browse around the website, read about the history of the organization and the war in Uganda, the current status, the invisible children blog, and the latest programs. Also, if you were moved to take action and get involved in the 25 Campaign you need to check out this video-you could go to Uganda!! If you are so inspired, feel free to blog about what you learn. Maybe you'll even decide to get involved...

Let's Blog!

Before you begin your blogging journey, Go to The Chicago History Museum and read the bio of Studs Terkel
Over the next 11 weeks, you will write nine blog posts. Each of these will be responses to specific stories found in Terkel’s My American Century. Enjoy your reading and writing!!

What goes in a Blog Post?
- First thoughts on the story you heard/read
- Important details about the story
- Key Text—and your specific response to that text
- What questions raised by the story?
- Connections to American history/ideas
- Check for
audio versions of the interview and describe what's different about hearing it rather than reading it.
